PRESS RELEASE: THE FOOD NETWORK’S “SECRET LIFE OF SUCCULENT SEAFOOD” FEATURES THE LOBSTER FESTIVAL DURING JANUARY

For Immediate Release
24 hour lobster hotline: 310-798-7478 (recording for publication)

JANUARY 3, 2006 – SAN PEDRO, CA. – The new year brought long deserved national attention to the Port of Los Angeles Lobster Festival as the Food Network’s “Secret Life of…Succulent Seafood” features San Pedro’s premier signature event saluting the King of Crustaceans during January. “Secret Life of…” host Jim O’Connor takes viewers to the Lobster Festival in the closing “On the Road” segment of his show.

“I’ve been holding my breath ever since the network contacted us in August. They sent their staff to last September’s fest to check us out and had a great time. Being recognized by the Food Network means San Pedro’s own Lobster Festival now joins the big boys when it comes to food events,” said Jim Hall, Lobster Festival producer. “No other food festival in Southern California has been featured by the Food Network and their coverage this month puts us right up there claw-to-claw with the mother of all lobster festivals, the 58 year-old Maine Lobster Festival.”

The “Secret Life of….Succulent Seafood,” which aired twice on January 2, can be seen January 3 at 2 am; January 7 at 3 pm and January 22 at 6:30 pm. The show will be repeated later in the year.
